Explain how these three situations would change a chip board (regardless of the starting value of the chips on the chip board). EX: "The first situation would cause the chip board to change by..... This would happen because....."
a. Adding 7 red chips and 13 black chips
b. Adding 15 red chips and 15 black chips
c. Adding 24 red chips and 17 black chips

The first situation would change the board by adding 6 to the total. The second on would not change it at all because the two numbers were opposites. The last situation would change it by subtracting 7 from the total it currently has.
The first would change by 6 because -7+13=6. The second wouln't change by anything because -15+15=0. The third would change by 7.
It would change the first situation by 6 chips. On b it wouldn’t do anything it would stay at zero because the red cancel out the blacks. On c the 24 reds would cancel out the 17 blacks and there would be -7 chips on the board!! This is Daniel Storie
The first situation would change by six, this would happen because -7+13 is like 13+-7 which is six. The second situation would have no change because there opposite so they would equal zero when subtracted. The third one would change by -7 because -24 is greater than 17 and when subtracted it equals –7.
THe first problem would just be adding 6 to the total. THe next problem would stay the same because twhen you add the smae numbers but the same signs the total stays the same. THe last problem would be subtracting 7 because the distance between the is 7
The first situation would cause the chip board to change because, the value is 6, this happened because there are 7 negative and 13 positive chips. The second situation wouldn’t change because they are opposites and would still equal 0. The third situation would cause the chip board to change because, the value is negative 7, this happened because there are 24 negative chips and 17 positive chips.
The first situation would cause the value of the original chip board to go up by 6. This is because there are 6 more black chips than red chips, giving you a +6, which you would add to the original value. The second scenario would not change the chip board value, because the amount of red and black chips are the same. The third scenario would change the chipboard by subtracting 7 from the original value. This is because there are 7 more red chips than black chips, giving you a -7, which you would add to the original value.
The first situation, the board would have 6 chips on it. The second wouldn't change at all because there's an even number of red and black chips on it. Then you would subtract 7 ending with a total of 1 red chip on the board wirth -1.
The first situation would add six positive chips to the chip board by doing -7 + 13 = 6. The second situation would not change the value of the chip board at all, it would stay zero because -15 + 15 = 0. They are opposites. The final situation would change the value by decreasing it by seven. We would be adding seven black chips by doing -24 + 17 = -7.
A. This would change the board by adding the thirteen black chips to the board and after you do that, subtract the seven red chips. So you would have 6 positive chips left if you were to start with zero. 13-7=6
B.The board wouldn’t change at all because the numbers are opposites.
C. This would change by 7.
This would cause the situation to change by seven negative and thirteen positive. The ending value would be positive six. This occurs since red are negatives and blacks are positives. The second situation changes by 15 red and 15 black the ending value would be zero since they zero each other out. The third situation changes by 24 negative and 17 positive the ending value is negative 7. Since we have 17 zero pairs and seven left over and since 24 have the greater absolute value we keep its sign.
The first situation would cause the chip board to change by +6. This would happen because, 13+(-7)=6. The second situation would cause the chip board to change by 0. This would happen because, 15+(-15)=0 because they are both opposites. The third situation would cause the chip board to change by -7. This would happen because, -24+17=-7.
The first situation, adding 7 red chips and 13 black chips, to your original chip board will add a positive 6. This will happen because there is more black chips than red chips. You would take the bigger amount and subtract it from the smaller amount. So 13-7=6. It is a positive six because the sign of the bigger number is positive. The second situation, adding 15 red chips and 15 black chips, would do nothing to the original chip board. This will happen because each 15 cancel out each other. The third situation, adding 24 red chips and 17 black chips, will add on a -7. This will happen because you take the bigger number and subtract from the smaller number. 24-17=7, but you would take the sign of the bigger number, so -7.
The first example would change by 6 because you have 6 more black chips than red chips. -7+13=6
The second example would change by 0 because you are adding 15 red and 15 black. It makes no difference!
The third example would change by adding -7 because there are 7 more red chips than black ones.
-24+17=-7
In the first situation, the value of the cb (chipboard) would increase by 6 because the # of black chips is larger. In the 2nd situation, the value would equal zero since the #s are opposites. In the 3rd situation the value would decrease by 7 because there are more red chips.
The first situation would cause the chip board to change by increasing its value by 6. This would happen because negative 7(red) plus positive 13(black) = positive 6. In the next situation would change the value of the chip board by nothing. This would happen because negative 15(red) plus positive 15(black) = zero. In the last situation the value of the chip board would change by negative 7. This would happen because negative 24(red) plus positive 17(black) = negative 7.
A.The first situation would cause the chip board to change by 6. It would change by 6 because 13+(-7)=6.B. The second situation would be 0. It would be zero because 15+(-15)=0,in other words they just zero each other out. C. The third situation would be -7. It would be -7 because 17+(-24)=-7 it would be negative because -24 is the bigger number so you would keep the negative sign.
Thefirst situation would cause the value of the chip board to cange by a possitive six.
13+-7=6
The second situation would not cause the value of the chip board to change because 15 an -15 are zero pairs.
15+-15=0
The third situation would cause the value of the chip board to change by a -7.
-24+17=-7
a. the answer would be positive, because you have more "positive chips" than you do negotive.
b. The answer would be zero because your adding numbers with the opposite signs.
c. the answer would be negotive, because you have more "negotive chips" than you do positive.
In the first situation you would add six to the problem because the black chips which is 13 and the red chips which is 7 you would add them to get a total of positive 6 which you would add to the problem. In the second situation the problem would change by zero because they are opposites and adding them would get you zero. In the last situation you would subtract 7 because there are more red chips less black chips which would equal a negative number.
A)In the first situation it would change the board by adding 6 to the original total. This would happen because, when you add 7 red chips and 13 black chips, the seven red chips are basically saying that you take away 7 from the 13. So the sum is 6 because 13+-7= -6
B)In the second situation it would not change the board at all. This happens because, when you add 15 red chips and 15 black chips, the both cancel out each other because they have the same value. They are called opposites, so the answer is 0 because
-15+15=0.
C)In the third situation it changes the board by subtracting 7 from the total it currently has. This happens because, when you add 24 red chips and 17 black chips, there are more red chips which means your sum will be negative. Your answer is -7 because -24+17= -7.
In the first situation, you would be adding 6 black chips. 13 - -7 = 6 negative back is positive. In the second situation, you would be adding and subtracting 0. The numbers are the same so no change would occur. In the third and last situation, you would be subtracting 7. If this were money, you would be in debt & 7.
A)In the first situation it would change the board by adding 6 to the original total. This would happen because, when you add 7 red chips and 13 black chips, the seven red chips are basically saying that you take away 7 from the 13. So the sum is 6 because 13+-7= 6
B)In the second situation it would not change the board at all.
The first situation would cause the chip board to change by a positive 6. This would happen because 7 red chips(-7) + 13 black (+13)= 6 black chips (+6). The second situation would cause the chip board to change by zero This would happen because 15red chips (-15) + 15 black (+15)= 0 chips (0). The third situation would cause the chip board to change by a negative 7. This would happen because 24 red chips(-24) + 17 black (+17)= 7 red chips (-7)
The first situation would change the board by adding 6 black chips to the total. This would happen because you had 7 red or -7 which cancels out 7 of the black chips or +7, you then would be left with 6 black chip. You also can explain this by saying: 13+(-7)=6. The second situation wouldn't change the board at all. This would happen because 15 red chips or (-15) + 15 black chips would equal zero. They are opposites so the cancel each other out, leaving no change to the board because you are adding nothing. The third situation would change by subtracting 7 from what was already on there. This would happen because if you add 17 to -24, your sum would be -7. So you just subtract 7 from what was already on the chip board.
The first problem would just be adding 6 chips the second problem wouldn't chang the board and the thrid would change the board be decresing by 7 because you are adding 7 red chips.
The first situation would cause the chip board to change by adding 6 to the total. This would happen because the 7 red chips and 7 of the black chips are zero pairs and the remaining chips are 6 black. The second situation wouldn’t change the chip board because the 15 red chips and the 15 black chips are zero pairs and opposites. The third situation would cause the chip board to change by subtracting. This would happen because 24 red chips minus 17 black chips equals 7 red chips.
The first situation would change the board by 6 chips. This would happen because of if there are 7 red chips and 13 blacks, you would subtract them and then you would have positive 6 left.
The second situation would change the board by nothing, or 0. Because if you have 15 red squares and 15 black squares, the you would subtract them and get 0.
The last situation would be changed by 7 chips. Because if you had 24 red chips and 17 black chips and then subtract the you get negative 7.
